Current Fitness Goals:
In general, my personal fitness related goals are to stay strong and relatively lean. Also, my goals vary with respect to what's going on in my life. If summer's coming, for example, I make the extra effort to watch my food intake closer, and am a little more strict with my strength training intensity and cardio frequency. For our business, my over-arching fitness related goal is to educate and arm every single member with what it takes for them to better them self.
Favorite Food:
Since I take one day per week and pretty much eat anything I want, I'll answer this two ways. On my off day, hands down my favorite foods are peanut M&M's and pepperoni pizza. The rest of the week, I'd have to say I'd lean toward BBQ chicken. (can you tell I'm much more passionate about peanut M&M's!)
Favorite Activity:
My favorite activities have to do with creating. Whether it's artistically or it's creating business processes that enhance the operation of our business. I also love new cars. I think if I could make a living at just looking at different models of new cars, I think I might be tempted to consider it. I'm the guy who'd probably use the new-car-smell fragrance as cologne if my wife would let me get away with it.
Favorite Workout Activity:
I think even more than the common male favorite chest and triceps workout, I enjoy working legs the most.
Favorite Sport:
By far, freestyle wresting, especially during the Olympics.
Favorite Movie:
This is a hard one for me to answer, because I'm not really much of a movie watcher. But, I think I'd have to say it's "What the !@#$% Do We Know?" This movie is one of the only movies that attempt to tackle the task of explaining quantum physics / mechanics, which absolutely fascinate me.
Favorite Website:
This one has to be Ebay. I love the business model, and I love the fact that I can look at tons of cars!!
Famous Quote:
My favorite quote is: The Answer to "How" is always "Yes". This quote has so much truth for me, because it really does seem that whenever you truly make a decision and truly commit to something by saying "Yes!", it seems like the world always works with you to make it happen; you always figure out how.
Other Things About Me:
I've spent nearly the last 20 years in the corporate world, in a totally unrelated field to fitness. Though, ever since I was very young I've been involved in fitness or sports in some capacity, either as a player or trainer, and for a short time did some competitive bodybuilding. In 2005 when the time was right to separate from my corporate job, which I really did enjoy, I wanted to get into a business that I really felt like I was making a difference. With my experience in fitness, my education in business, and my strong (almost overwhelming at times) desire to help people, the fitness business seemed like the perfect opportunity. I see so many people wanting to take better care of themselves, but don't really know where to start. Advertisements for fitness products and diets are often so misleading, it's no wonder people are so confused. Even many people who've been involved with trying to stay fit for a long time, just really aren't sure about what they're doing and are more or less flying by the seat of their pants. So here I am, hoping to share everything that I know about fitness with anyone who can benefit from it (and sometimes with even those who can't (smile). And at the end of the day, I'll be happy to know that I have helped better the lives of a few, or maybe a lot, or who knows - maybe our impact will be much bigger that we could have imagined. Whatever the outcome, I know I'm doing the right thing.
